About Dr. Z

Welcome! I'm Dr. Uzair ‘Z’ Hammad, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and a Board-Certified Neurological Clinical Specialist, dedicated to helping individuals with neurologic conditions reclaim their lives and achieve optimal function.

Throughout my career, I’ve become confounded by the idea that insurance companies continue to cut therapy services, resulting in premature discharges from therapy which in turn leaves individuals without the assistance and training they need to reintegrate into the community.

For me, this profession is more than just a job; it is a calling. Each day, I wake up with a sense of purpose and a deep commitment to helping my patients recover and regain their independence. Seeing the progress and transformation of my patients is incredibly rewarding, and I am grateful to be part of their rehabilitation journey.

HOWEVER

Due to how the current system works, individuals “run out of services” before they’re ready to truly reintegrate into the community, and I have witnessed a lack of insurance coverage, transportation, and other barriers result in patients accepting their situation when they don’t have to. My passion stems from a deep desire to make a lasting impact in the lives of individuals who have experienced neurological injuries, such as paralysis and disabling dizziness. So I found DrZNeuroPT to help my clients overcome these barriers, reintegrate into the community, and take control of their life back !

I firmly believe in a collaborative approach that empowers both my patients and myself to work together towards restoring neurological function. By utilizing evidence-based practice and staying at the forefront of advancements in the field, I strive to optimize the effectiveness of treatment and ensure the best outcomes for my patients.

I invite you to explore the services I offer and embark on a collaborative partnership towards achieving your rehabilitation goals. Together, we can unlock your potential, restore function, and enhance your quality of life.

Person

I have extensive experience treating a wide range of conditions, including spinal cord injury, stroke, vestibular disorders, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and more through specialized residency training in neurology at a level-one trauma hospital following my graduation with a DPT from the University of Central Florida.

Additionally, my passion for teaching has lead me to become involved in academia, serving as Adjunct Faculty for neurology-related courses at Doctor of Physical Therapy Graduate Programs. Additionally, I am honored to co-host the APTA Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy's Podcast: Discussions in Spinal Cord Injury Science, where I have the privilege of engaging with leading researchers and clinicians in the field of spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
